Throughout history, great tragedy has brought with it great Art. Whether the impetus for a piece of work is a personal or global experience the examination of the art-making process often uncovers hidden stories addressing history, science, identity, race, and more. This exhibit explores the driving force behind selected historical and contemporary art pieces from our Permanent Collection and on loan from personal collections, galleries, and museums in New Mexico and Colorado.
